    The Dandenong Ranges is fast becoming one of Victoria’s most artistic regions.

    Housed in quaint villages such as Sassafras and Olinda, those interested in art are sure to find something to delight.

    Burrinja Gallery named in honour of the artist Lin Onus of the Yorta Yorta people was established to showcase Aboriginal and Oceanic art. Specialising in indigenous culture, educational tours and hand on workshops the Gallery includes works of international significance from across Australia.

    Over 300 works of art are on sale and display at the historical Sherbrooke Art Society Gallery. Nestled in the Dandenong Ranges the gallery offers a range of activities and features including art demonstrations and workshops, life drawing groups, field days, book and video library and social outings.

    William Ricketts Sanctuary is not only favoured by keen gardeners, but is also a popular destination for art lovers. The Sanctuary reflects a spirit of place, many visitors travel across the world to visit this unique meld of mystical kiln-fired clay sculptures and gardens.

    Follow the Heidelberg School Artist Trail and pay homage to some of Australia’s most famous artists including Arthur Streeton, Frederick McCubbin, Tom Roberts and Eugene Von Guerard. A forty kilometre trail stretches from Heidelberg to Belgrave showing reproductions of works by the renowned artists.

    Another gallery that must get a mention includes Five Ways Gallery located in Kalorama, showcasing the works of well known local Australian artists. Tucked away in the secluded township of Kalorama visitors can spend hours wondering through this unique gallery.
