Regardless of your age, fitness level, interests or budget, there are plenty of things to see and do in the Dandenong Ranges all year-round.

Lush rainforest, ferny gullies and beautiful waterfalls are just some of the reasons why the region is a nature-lovers' paradise.

Explore the beauty of the Dandenong Ranges National Park which covers 3200 hectares and is home to abundant wildlife, including its famous lyrebirds as well as cockatoos, rosellas and kookaburras.

The Dandenong Ranges is also home to some of Australia's most picturesque flower farms and gardens, including Warratina Lavender Farm and the National Rhododendron, Alfred Nicholls and George Tindale Memorial Gardens.

A hugely popular tourist attraction which has been enthralling visitors - young and old - for over a century is the Puffing Billy steam train which takes passengers on a scenic journey through the region every day of the year (except Christmas Day). Puffing Billy's 50km route extends from Belgrave, winding along the historic track through ferny glades and towering Mountain Ash, to its terminus in Gembrook.
